Decorate For Dating
They say that home is where the heart is. It's also where the passion is, or should be. Your home is an extension of yourself, your personality on full display. Everything in it, from the pictures on the walls and the choice of furniture to the food in the fridge, reveals something about you. So when it comes to dating, taking care of your home is just as important as taking care of how you look, because it's showing potential partners what kind of person you are. So take a look at your home and think about what needs changing. I like to take 'The Three Fs' approach - Feng Shui, Fantasy Bedroom and French Dressing. It's a simple plan to turn your home into a sexy, sensual environment that guys are going to love.
1. Feng Shui
This is the popular Chinese principle of arranging a space to allow positive energy - called 'qi' - to flow through it. From where you place plants and furniture, to what color schemes to use in different rooms, Feng Shui is proven to enhance a person's mood and positivity. To allow Feng Shui to work its magic, it's essential to declutter. Clear your closet of clothes you never wear, throw out trinkets gathering dust on the shelf and generally just make space. Another important aspect of Feng Shui is to design your own space. Fill your home with things which reflect your personality and use your favorite colors, scents and visuals to maintain a happy mood. Throw out photographs of ex-boyfriends and mementoes of past relationships because they stop you from moving on. Feng Shui is all about the flow of energy, so anything you possess which reminds you of a negative event in your life, get rid of it.
2. Fantasy Bedroom
Your bedroom is the most important room in the house and is there for two things only: sex and sleep. Apart from the bed and your storage, there should be nothing else in there - no electronics, no exercise equipment, no pets! It's a space where you should feel excited all the time, whether you're with a lover or not. Silk sheets, warm red walls, large mirrors and luxurious fleecy blankets are just a few things you can use to turn your bedroom into a boudoir. Use incense and soft lighting to create a sexy, seductive backdrop and always keep sex toys within reach - preferably in a bedside drawer so you're always ready to use them. When it comes to wall art, keep things sensual - no pictures of kids or family/friends. Be imaginative when it comes to interior design - there are so many sexy-looking lamps and mirrors out there. Get a chaise for the corner of the room, anything to add an extra naughty dimension. Everything in your bedroom should scream 'sex!,'
3. French Dressing
Nobody does sex like the French, they're the most sensual people on earth. Everything they do is about sex - the way they dress, the way they eat, the way they walk and talk. So take some Gallic inspiration when decorating your home. Use candles, chandeliers, lush drapes and brocaded upholstery. Line the stairs with pictures of black and white nudes or abstract erotica. You can even be French in the way you treat your visiting lovers. Lavish them with attention, have a drink ready for their arrival, light scented candles or incense and be tactile! Always have playlists ready for your iPod so you can set an instant mood and, if you're cooking, make the food all part of the seduction. The French pay attention to every detail, it's in their DNA, so you should do the same. Although your home should be an inviting place for others, the most important thing is to make sure it reflects you. Only ever decorate with colors, fabrics and objects which stimulate you because you want your home to make you feel sexy 24/7.
